La Academia de Hollywood anunció los finalistas en diez categorías de cara a las nominaciones a los Premios Oscars 2023. Mediante una serie de shortlist, la organización estadounidense adelanta los futuros posibles nominados y aumenta la expectativa. Se trata de 10 categorías, de las que se destaca Mejor Película Internacional, en la cual Argentina, 1985 quedó seleccionada entre las 15 mejores.
Además, las categorías de Documental, Documental corto, Maquillaje y Vestuario, Sonido, Banda Sonora, Canción Original, Corto Animado, Corto Live-Action y Efectos Visuales. Las votaciones para seleccionar a los nominados a los Premios Oscars 2023 concluyeron el pasado 16 de diciembre. Se llevará a cabo otra fase de votación de entre estas listas semifinalistas.
